Los Angeles, California Oct 7, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The 2025 Los Angeles World Peace Film Awards (LAWPFA) has announced its nomination list, featuring 19 films from 17 countries across five thematic award categories, highlighting the powerful role of cinema in promoting peace, human rights, and social justice.
The Los Angeles World Peace Film Awards was founded on a unique vision to harness the transformative power of cinema in service of global peace and understanding. Following its successful inaugural edition in Los Angeles in 2023, this year's awards feature a stunning lineup of nominees, including the Oscar-winning Best Documentary "No Other Land," which chronicles the Palestinian land struggle, and "Dissenters," which examines the courage of those who uphold their convictions under authoritarian regimes. Jury Chair Dana Stevens stated that great storytelling has the power to change hearts and minds, fostering understanding across all boundaries.
This year's ceremony will take place in Busan, South Korea, with five thematic awards and two special honors to be announced at the awards ceremony on October 28. Winning films will subsequently be screened in special engagements across multiple cities in South Korea.
